Design yours
Salty Saunas started with one awkward cupboard under the stairs and no sauna that fitted it. So we design made-to-measure saunas for Australian homes: under the stairs, in the spare room and out the back. Every one is drawn to your numbers, built to size and installed by licensed local trades.
Saunas
Every Salty sauna is named for the coast. Start from one, then change any measurement to fit your space.
Most saunas need a flat 2-metre ceiling. Ours follow the line of your stairs, so you use the full height at one end and keep your legs at the other.
Both are built to your measurements. The right one depends on your ceiling, your power and how you like your heat.
Infrared warms you directly. Traditional heats the air, and you can pour water on the rocks for steam.
Infrared suits low and sloped ceilings, so it's the usual pick under stairs.
How long from switching on to ready.
Both are connected by a licensed electrician. We confirm your circuit in the quote.
Design yours
Enter your measurements, see it in 3D and send it to us for a fixed quote.
Enter your measurements in millimetres. Drag the model to look around it.
Indicative pricing, including delivery and install. Your fixed quote follows a review of your space.
Last step
Your design comes with this form. We check the measurements and email you one fixed price with a drawing. We may ask for a couple of photos of the space.
Change the designHow it works
Everything happens online. Nobody needs to visit your home until the install.
Step 1
Width, depth and height at the tallest point. If the ceiling slopes, measure the low side too. It takes about ten minutes with a tape measure.
Step 2
Enter your numbers in the designer, then choose infrared or traditional heat and your timber. The 3D preview updates as you go.
Step 3
Send your design with your contact details. We reply asking for a few photos of the space, the floor and the nearest power point.
Step 4
A real person checks your measurements against your photos, then emails one fixed price with a drawing of your sauna.
Step 5
Approve the drawing and pay a deposit. Your cabin is cut to your measurements, with a lead time of 8–12 weeks.
Step 6
We confirm your delivery date ahead of time. Everything arrives flat-packed and labelled for assembly.
Step 7
Licensed local trades assemble it in about a day, and a licensed electrician connects it.
Step 8
We show you how to run it, look after the timber and get the most out of every session.
This is everything we need to fix your price without a site visit.
Width, depth, height at the tall end and height at the low end.
The whole space, the floor and any stairs above it.
The nearest power point or switchboard, so the electrician can plan the circuit.
Doorways, hallways and stairs between your front door and the space.
Width. Along the wall, from the lowest usable point under the stairs to the wall or door frame at the tall end.
Height. Floor to the underside of the stairs at the tallest point you will use.
Low side. Floor to the underside of the stairs at the short end. Under about 1,100 mm suits storage, not seating.
Depth. Back wall to where the door will sit. Allow for skirting boards and any light switch.
One price covers all of this. No extras turn up on the day.
A sauna sits inside your home, so safety is built in from the drawing stage, not added at the end.

Specifying a sauna for a renovation, a new build or a short-stay property.
For builders, architects and hosts
We work with renovators, builders, architects and short-stay hosts who want a sauna that fits the plans, not the other way round.
FAQ
The things people ask most before they measure up.
No. You measure, we check. Your numbers and a few photos are enough for us to confirm the fit and fix the price. If anything looks off, we ask before we build.
We build each cabin slightly under your numbers so it slides into place. If a measurement doesn't match your photos, we flag it before production starts.
8–12 weeks from deposit to install. Most of that is building and shipping. Fitting takes about a day.
That depends on the heater. Many infrared builds run on a dedicated circuit, and traditional heaters usually need a hardwired circuit. A licensed electrician connects every install.
Tell us your postcode in the quote form and we'll confirm delivery and installation for your area.
Yes. Outdoor builds add a weatherproof roof and cladding, and need a level concrete pad or deck.
